It’s definitely my favorite time of year! The sun is shining, flowers are blooming everywhere and Pick Your Own farms are open! Right now you can pick blueberries, peaches and raspberries.
Blueberries are low in calories but high in nutrients. They help heart health, bone strength, skin health, blood pressure, diabetes management, cancer prevention, and mental health. Wow!
Peaches are rich in phenols, flavonoids, and carotenoids, which prevent cancer and DNA damage. They promote healthy eyes, healthy skin, healthy digestion, healthy brain function, a strong immunity and manage cholesterol.
Raspberries support weight loss, fight cancer and infections, keep blood sugar stable and they are a good source of vitamin C, B vitamins, folic acid, copper and iron. They also help to reduce wrinkles and support the immune system.
What’s better than a plump, juicy blueberry, peach and/or raspberry? Fruit that you pick yourself! We’re lucky here in Western Massachusetts as we have several Pick Your Own farms. Visit one or more of these Pick Your Own farms, but we suggest calling first just to make sure they are open and have plenty to pick.
