It's Maple Syrup Time in Western Massachusetts

maple syrup

It's Maple Sugar time in Western Massachusetts, and we have many sugar house restaurants in the Pioneer Valley. If you haven't already, why not start a new tradition and visit one of these sugar houses to learn how maple syrup is made and enjoy a fabulous breakfast while you're there . Here are a few of our favorite places.

South Face Sugar Shack in Ashfield. During March and early April, nearly 60,000 gallons of sap is collected and boiled down into that sweet delicacy of spring-pure maple syrup. Visit them during maple sugaring season in March and early April. Because maple sap flow depends on just the right weather conditions, you may want to call ahead and see if they are boiling when you plan to visit. Their phone number is 413-628-3268. https://www.southfacefarm.com/

Williams Farm Sugar House in Deerfield. Over 150 years of sugaring. Open Saturdays and Sundays 8am-3pm. http://williamsfarmsugarhouse.com/

North Hadley Sugar Shack. Breakfast is on Saturdays and Sundays, 7am-3pm and Weekdays 7am-1pm through April 15. http://www.northhadleysugarshack.com/

Davenports in Shelburne. Open Saturdays and Sundays 8am-3pm. See maple syrup being made and enjoy a huge breakfast. https://www.facebook.com/DavenportMaple/.

Open daily from 8:30-2pm, check out Gould’s Sugar House in Shelburne. www.goulds-sugarhouse.com/bc/.

High Hopes Farm in Worthington is open Saturdays and Sundays 7am-2pm through April 8. Enjoy their Sugar House Buffet, Sugaring & Products. https://highhopesmaple.com/.

Hanging Mountain Farms in Westhampton has been in the Aloisi family for three generations. They have about 1200 taps and produce, on a good year, around 200 gallons. Stop in for some of their delicious maple syrup, take a tour of their sugaring operation, and stop for breakfast at the Strawbale Café. https://hangingmountainfarm.com/.
