Traditional wisdom is telling you to sell your home in the spring, isn’t it? That’s the way it has always been. But times have changed, and waiting to put your house on the market in the spring doesn’t really make sense anymore.
So why sell before spring?
- We live in a technically advanced world. Buyers are online, looking at homes 24/7, 365 days of the year.
- Less inventory. As it is with any product, the law of supply and demand impacts home prices, too. Whenever there is less supply than the market demands, prices will increase. Come spring, anyone contemplating selling will have their house on the market, and you’ll have more competition. Right now, you could be the only game in town. That could drive up the price of your home!
- Mortgage rates are still low, but according to Freddie Mac, interest rates are projected to increase steadily over the course of the next 10 months and beyond. Smart buyers know this and are already online searching for the home of their dreams.
